who knew

i blog when it's not private and not mine. hmm. aidan put on mascara today. i re-read the link connie sent me to the "love extends beyond convenience" article. i love having dad's car. it's nice to not be stuck in the house or try to find a ride. i can't decide whether to cut my hair short (right above my collar bone) or not. i realized how long it is when i had my coat on at school. ah, school. today was my last day of class and so far (this will change tomorrow) i have a 3.9 gpa. i'm babysitting constantly which is actually good 'cause then the boys aren't so bored with each other. the hair thing. this girl at school told me i should go blond. i think not. i can't believe i'm done with classes. for eight years anyway. i'm not going to have my temple recommend in march. that makes me sad. i'm thinking the beginning of may. rich can take ladawn's boys. we may have to make this an over-nighter. :D rich's bosses are in haiti being body guards for doctors. i wonder how many people they'll kill? i'm back to thinking no on the tattoo. if i get it then i'll want the boys' initials and birthdates and then the amor vincit omnia with the daisy and this is not a good thing. i gave my final speech today and even though the teacher loved it i still got a C because i went way under on my time (last time i went way over) and that was 20% of my grade. but he loved it and i got awesome comments so that made me happy. i'm going to miss people. i need to pay off some bills so that i can get a minivan this year. i just realized that i can do it. if i do it before october when my nasty student loans have to be paid on. i'm going to be taking over kim's life next month. i can't figure out why she's excited to babysit for me. maybe she's bored. ooh ooh! i put a crib together for geanette today! it was fun. i love her. this saturday we're getting bunk beds for the boys (mattress for aidan, more sheets) and a light cover plus bulb. i'm going to paint their room! i love tax season. rich is getting a bike in the spring so he can go riding with jakob and i'm signing him (jake not rich) up for softball this year. aidan is waffling with the whole potty training thing. i'm giving him three months and then handing him over to my bff. i've been reading nothing but books for research. learned a lot about marie curie. marya salomee sklowdowska curie. i'm rambling. yay! have a good night.

i got my schedule for next month. i'll be training 6 days a week. i told her i prefer saturdays to sundays so i'm good there. let's see if i can't bust my externship out in 6 weeks!

Clarification

Apparently, I need to read comments...so here is the copy and paste:

"lol...made me think about dad with my remote.
and him getting stuck on "Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew".

that was funny.

that really is mean.

He's only 76... Grandpa Lee was at least in his late 80's and had prostate cancer to go through to blame the whole mess on."

Okay.  So I assumed that people read my blog and know the story.  Here is the story:

Dad thinks he knows how to work my remote.  He doesn't.  Every time he insists that he can do it, but he doesn't figure it out...too many buttons...the same problem I have trying to use the dvd player during my Sunday School class...anyway...  This time, we didn't argue with him, just let him do it.  Because he insists he knows how.

So he pushes buttons while muttering.

I was in my room folding laundry, I hear Doug say, "That's Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew, I don't think you want to watch that."

I come out.  And yup...dad has pushed buttons and ended up on that show.  But he continues to say that he knows what he's doing, so we both just stay quiet while he is busy punching buttons and not getting anywhere.

A few minutes later, he finally gets the channel to change.  It changes to some incredibly stupid pre-pre-school show.  At which point dad is frustrated...I pat him on his shoulder and say, "I don't think I like the shows you pick dad..."  and go back to folding laundry in my room.

It was funny.

Margaret thought so.  Doug thought so.  Brittany and Jaycey thought so.  Even dad thought so.

So what I posted awhile back was not mean.  Dad was there, he appreciated the humor of the situation.

In no way did I infer that dad wanted to watch the show.  And, although I'm not a watcher of that show, I believe it's for people who are addicted to sex...not for people who can't have sex.

And in no way did I infer that dad can't have sex.

His (and grandpa's) sex life is none of my concern.  That's his and Margaret's personal business.

I do know that he doesn't have prostate cancer...knock on wood...and hopefully, he goes to the doctor often enough now that any physical problems (be it his heart, diabetes, skin, lungs, stomach, etc.) that he has will be caught before they become worse.

So I stand behind my earlier post.  It was a funny moment.  It wasn't mean in any way.  And dad is welcome to read each and every post that goes up on here.

So...perhaps another "rule" for this blog should be:  no picking fights.

Because this was fairly ridiculous.

And even dad said that.  Because remember...he was there...he wasn't offended...I would never do anything to hurt him, especially in a public forum of any sorts.

That's all....I'm over it...I know the kind of person that I am...I don't diss on my parents.  I may tease them, but they tease right back.

Blast from the Past...

17 March 1994

Brittany was watching tv. There's a scene with a mother and daughter. The daughter leaves, mom tosses some papers. Britt laughs. I asked her what was funny. She said it was funny cause moms don't make messes.

08 January 2010

i might be just a little bit mean

alright i'm breaking this in. my own blog is stale since i don't lead a very interesting life and that's how i like it. dad and margaret are upstairs watching a movie. he didn't want to see "oh brother where art thou" again or "catch me if you can" and he left his movies in the car and i don't like being cold so i said "hey, you like british comedies" and put in "the meaning of life". dad just sat through them singing "every sperm is sacred". i'm down here laughing. i think that's enough quotation marks for now.
